Understanding
cyber risk
Understanding your cyber risks and potential cybersecurity alternatives is not easy
Cyber risk is the risk of loss, theft, or damage to data or systems that result from cyberattacks.
The world seems to be turning ever faster. Companies face a myriad of challenges: internationalisation, changing market conditions, price increases, new digital solutions, additional regulatory requirements, and the opportunities and challenges with AI, just to name a few.
Unfortunately, we must add to that list the ever-increasing risk from cyber threat actors, offering a dark side to our pursuit of digital efficiency. Not long ago, cyber risk seemed to be a concern only for large corporations, often in distant lands. But if you've been paying attention, you've seen a daily increase in news about countries, individuals, and companies being hacked.
For smaller companies without dedicated cybersecurity teams, understanding the evolving cyber threat landscape and assessing its implications has been a daunting task.
At Hugin, we aim to make our contribution to understanding cybersecurity in general, and help you gain control of your cybersecurity in particular. We hope you find the following information useful.

Whitepaper 02
Current landscape of cybersecurity offerings
In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) find themselves particularly vulnerable to cyber threats. These vulnerabilities stem not just from the sophistication of attacks but also from a market of cybersecurity solutions that often overlooks the needs and constraints of SMBs. Today's cybersecurity products are predominantly technical in nature, designed by and for cybersecurity experts. This complexity, coupled with the high cost of purchase (and inherent need for external consultants), leaves a significant portion of the market—businesses without extensive in-house cybersecurity expertise or substantial IT budgets—underserved and exposed.
This white paper serves a dual purpose: firstly, to give an overview of the current landscape of cybersecurity offerings, highlighting the limitations and challenges that SMBs face; and secondly, to introduce Hugin.io as a pioneering solution that bridges these gaps. Our goal is to provide a concise, to-the-point overview for internal stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of the market dynamics and the innovative positioning of Hugin.io. As we navigate through this document, we will explore the necessity for such a solution in today's market and how it stands to revolutionise cybersecurity practices for SMBs.
